RYAN BERMOY CABRAS – from ALS to RN
Ryan Bermoy Cabras – 24 years of age and a resident of Purok 10-B, Brgy. Fatima, General Santos City. He belongs to a broken family and that’s the reason why he dropped from school as a second year drop-out in 1999.
After a year of being an Out of School Youth (OSY) and just roaming around, he realized that it’s difficult to be far behind from his peers in terms of knowledge as well as learning experiences. He felt so worried that time when he quitted from school and see his peers in school continuously schooling.
It was the time that God guided him to find his way to continue to his studies through the Alternative Learning System Accreditation and Equivalency (ALS A&E) Program. He met the ALS miracle worker in the person of Marcos A. Olong, a mobile teacher of Fatima District. Marcos A. Olong was his Instructional Manager (IM)who convinced and encouraged him to enroll and attend ALS A&E session once a week every Saturday as scheduled. He was convinced and absolutely he grabbed the said opportunity given to him. He knew it can help a lot for his future.
He took the ALS A&E National Test and luckily he passed with a rating of 96% in the year 2002. He is blessed and also thankful to his miracle worker for his accomplishment as ALS learner. He enrolled at Brokenshire College SOCSARGEN Inc., General Santos City as a nursing student. He graduated Bachelor of Science in Nursing year 2008 and luckily he passed the Board Examination for Nursing given last December 2008. He is proud enough as one of the product of the Alternative Learning System (first batched passers) and now a successful Registered Nurse (RN).
To all ALS Learners, if Ryan Bermoy Cabras did it, you can also do it! Live a life that matters.
